More Canadian workplaces are recognizing that psychological safety belongs alongside physical safety and that’s a game-changer for onboarding and ongoing training.

Provinces like Nova Scotia are leading the change with new regulations recognizing psychological safety as part of overall workplace health. Starting September 2025, Nova Scotia employers will be required to have a written harassment policy and provide related training.

This shift aligns with the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace, developed by the Mental Health Commission of Canada, setting a national benchmark for mentally healthy workplaces.
